Episode 97: Ten Thrilling Years (featuring Noah Diamond)
Last year, we realized that a decade had passed since the publication of The Annotated Marx Brothers, and that who knows — as the world’s preeminent (read: only) ongoing Marx Brothers podcast, we might be in a position to book the author of The Annotated Marx Brothers as a guest, to discuss his book’s decennial. This he was kind enough to do, and the resulting interview (Episode 81: Ten Annotated Years) was unquestionably one of the high points in the history of books, movies, interviews, and years.
Could lightning strike twice? We couldn’t help but notice that this year happens to be the decennial of another randomly-chosen book about the Marx Brothers: Gimme a Thrill: The Story of I’ll Say She Is, the Lost Marx Brothers Musical, and How it Was Found. We hunted down its famously reclusive and eccentric author, and by leaving increasing quantities of crackers outside his cage we were able to slowly earn his trust. The resulting interview should be of tremendous value to future scientists.
